S65 Review FOUR-STEAM AHEAD

Written by TEAM BOBYN at 17:21 5/8-2023

S65 will go down as one of TB's greatest ever seasons. In fact second best but with the highest number of podium places (#18) ever.

Coupled with Ukraine's joint win of the Comrade Cup and the first time the U23 entered the World TT (U23) Championship, and a large part of S65 being spent in D4 it certainly feels a good deal better than TB's record breaking S59.

In particular Manager Barry would have been particularly pleased with the progress made by fans favourite Korablin who has taken the season with ablaze with 2 wins and still only 22. A bright future beckons. Also a special nod to Lyutov for an outstanding performance.

  In summary:

   Pts: 737 (+ 195pts)
   Division: 4 (D) (+1 Divisions)
   Rank: Ukraine 1st ( +/- place)
   worldwide 194th ( +74 places)
   Team Value 2.613m (+ 122k)
Rider of the Season: Matvei Lyutov (Rank: 739th, Ukraine Rank 5th)

  Personnel & Tactical Changes

Kapriyanov and Cluff will retire with the latter staying on as Coach. No major changes in team direction with Zhuravlyov as Captain (but being ably supported by Belgian De Peuter who is promoted from the Youth Acadmey while Kozlovsky will lead the Sprint elements as Vice Captain. The Uzbek duo Yenotov and Arshavin will cover during absences and when they TF as Rusanov will likely to called upon to lead in many of the Ukrainian races.

   International:
As amazing performance from Ukraine to come out as joint winners of the S65 Comrade Cup, An historic achievement esepcially from a what has been considered an againg squad. TB riders made a solid contribution.

A number of TB riders were heavily featured, including Zhuravlyov (4 caps), Kozlovsky (2 caps), Dmitriyev (2 Caps), Volkov (2 caps), Rusanov (1 cap & a 3rd), Korablin (debut - 2 caps and a 52nd PB), Dolzhikov (2 caps), Polishchuk(1cap), Lyutov (1 cap), Medvedev (debut - 1 cap), Kapriyanov (1 cap), Zhivenkov (1 cap), Destyatov (1 cap) and Chupov (2 caps).

TB's Uzbek riders - Arshavin picked up 1 cap (a 14th and a PB and Uzbek rider Yenotov picked up 1 cap.

U23 - TB U23 side has had an amazing season finishing 2nd overall, takjing the U23 Division 2 title and Korablin finishing 4th overall and a podium 3rd in the Div 2 U23 rankings. Stenabaugh, Bogun, Korablin (1W, 3 Podiums, 1 Place), Andreyushkin (1 Podium, 2 Places), Medvedev (2 Podiums, 1 Place) and De Peuter (2 Podiums, 4 places) providing a Full compliment. The team did so well they were able to qualify for the U23 World Time Trial Championship - the first time for TB and we had 5 races finishing in the top 25 places with Korablin leading the charge in 12th. An astounding performance by the U23s.
